ERICA BARWELL
At the Australia Day awards at Alma Park, Erica Barwell was announced Uralla’s “Citizen of the Year” for 2024.Erica is a retired accountant who lives in rural Uralla Shire. She is President of the Uralla branch of the United Hospital Auxiliaries and works on a roster basis at the Armidale Hospital Kiosk. She has been Treasurer for the past twelve years for Friends of McMaughs. She is a member, assistant treasurer and past secretary of McCrossin’s Mill, where she also assists with the catering for many functions held there. This, in addition to her regular Mill duty.
She has been a past Treasurer for the Uralla Showground Land Management Board. Erica is a member of the Uralla branch of the Red Cross, in which she fulfilled the role of Zone Representative in 2023, requiring her to travel hundreds of kilometres to attend meetings.
